Home Organising & Decluttering
Senstive organising & decluttering for dissabilites, hoarders or homes that are just a bit messy.
Service Description
Process: 1. We greet, you give me a brief tour of your home, & we discuss a good place to start. 2. I create groups of similar things. You are welcome to participate, watch or go off & do your own thing. 3. 1.5hrs before the end of the session, we discuss the groups that have been created for about 30-45mins. Here you answer as best you can, ("I don't know" is still helpful to me) the questions I have accumulated for you and we also de-clutter. I put things in groups before I get you to de-clutter, to help make your decision making process easier. It's easier to decide if you want something, if you can see it in the context of other similar things and what category it is used in. 4. I now arrange categories in their storage areas and label them clearly but discretely (because I respect aesthetic). If there is not enough time to complete this, I arrange things as neat as possible for a potential next session. You are welcome to assist me, watch or go back to your own thing. 5. I load any approved donations in my car (as much as can fit), to take to an op-shop on my way home, free of charge. 6. We debrief about the space worked on. I listen to your feedback and make suggestions for future plans, that you or I can implement and better storage solutions if applicable. (Often the client has storage that works well enough.) Next Session: If you hire me for another session, or a series of sessions, instead of a home tour, we discuss how the previously organised space has been working for you and make any adjustments before moving onto a new area. Working bit by bit: When a new space is organised in subsequent sessions, there is often small to large changes that need to be made to previously organised spaces. Some organising processes, require you to get everything that belongs in one area, in that area, before you start organising anything. This is to reduce re-organising areas as much. This would definitely be ideal, but overwhelming for many and impossible for some, especially in hoarder situations. So I just work with whatever exists in the space I am organising, return things to other spaces/rooms if it's easy at that point and gradually everything gets to where it needs to be and the process becomes easier and faster. If all this sounds amazing BUT you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and or check out the FAQ page. I look forward to our session, it is truly my pleasure to be part of this exciting transformative process with you :)
